What We Strive For

Principles of feminism call on us to recognize that human development is shaped by social, political, and historical forces as much as or more than by individual physical, mental, and familial components.

We stand for and ally with others in building a human society free from oppression in any form. We recognize that racism, sexism, classism, anti-Semitism, agism, heterosexism, ablebodiedism, and other oppressions are intersecting and interlocking, and are deeply rooted both institutionally and individually. We must therefore oppose them not only in society as a whole but also in ourselves and in our structures, products, and processes.

We strive to create more diverse, inclusive, well reasoned, and effective models of feminist therapy practice -- to move our discipline forward while continuing to incorporate our political principles.
